Zelan Bonn is an award-winning author, innovator, inventor and multidisciplinary entrepreneur.

Mr Bonn started working full time during the summers at the ripe old age of 10. He eventually gravitated to entrepreneurial efforts, successfully operating his own companies before transitioning to a second “passion” career as an independent film and TV producer.  

Writing

“I got interested in writing because I had wanted to become a film producer since childhood. I had made my first 8mm animation about age 9 and loved it. I later discovered that the best way to enter Hollywood was through screenplay writing but I was not interested in writing. In high school, I wrote my first short story during an in-class assignment. After passing it around the class, it came back to me with nearly every student comment suggesting it be turned into book. That’s when I started learning screenplay writing and eventually went on to books.”

Film and TV

I was very lucky later in life, after my first career, to have gotten an opportunity to work as a film and TV producer out of Fox Studios Baja. My friends Harry Heeks and David Skinner graciously took me under their wings. I had projects I wanted to do inside of Mexico and I wanted to bring a lot of work to the studio. However, just as a couple of my projects were about to get funded, Fox sold the Baja location and the new buyer kicked everyone off the lot. That upset me back years. 

When not traveling, Mr. Bonn lives between Northern Baja coast and San Diego County, California.

Imajilan™

After the Fox Studios Baja shutdown event, Mr. Bonn changed the name of f his film company and restarted efforts in Hollywood. Without the clout of the studio name behind him, the doors were now closed and harder to open.

He eventually developed and authored franchise projects and series.

Inventor & Innovator

A natural born innovator and inventor, Mr. Bonn submitted his first video-game concept to Mattel at age 9. Just after he launched Imajilan,™ he began work innovating the world’s first A.I. Superconvergence 3.0™ integrated film-TV network and production studio system. The $2.4 billion budgeted project was projected to replace all legacy film studio and TV network models. It features some inventions not yet seen on Hollywood today.

Home Life

When not traveling, Mr. Bonn lives between Northern Baja coast and San Diego County, California.

Passion

My first love is screenplay writing. I love creating new worlds from scratch and building out characters. There is a magic that happens when you reach a certain point in the crafting and the characters take over and write the story for you. I even find myself getting into arguments with them because they have their own direction for the story–but I’m still boss–I tell the uppity ones that if they don’t watch out, I will have them killed in the next scene–lol! Yes, I’m ruthless! lol… 

Travel Experiences

My first career gave me money to travel the world. I had grown up as a child going across the border regularly with my family so I consider Mexico my second country. I’ve visited 13 states deep into Mexico–the interior is extremely beautiful. I also visited 31 states across USA. However, my greatest adventures included exotic ports around the world–15 countries so far.

Reading Interests

I rarely read fiction because I am an action oriented individual. I need things to move along–I need to feel like I am going somewhere. With many fiction writers, they stop the action and bore me with crap I’m not interested in. Now, having said that, I have seen some exception writers that move the action and strategically pause and give one an inner world in the rest stop that really blends and works but those writers are very rare. Besides, I prefer to entertain myself by learning so I read mostly non-fiction.
